Youth Ministries
As it states in 1 Corinthians, “the body is a unit, though it is made of many parts,” so is the church of Christ made up of many parts including our children.
1st Christian Reformed Church offers:
- Nursery
- Sunday School beginning with three-year olds
- Preschool Choir
- Hand Bell Choir
- Catechism
- CADETS
- GEMS
Nursery is provided every morning and evening service for infants and toddlers.
Our goal is to lead little lambs to Jesus. Sunday School provides a way to feed our young lambs Bible stories geared to their age level, sing praises to God and begin their journey of being a witness for their Lord and Savior.
Preschool Choir meets prior to their Sunday School lesson and on occasion is the special music in our worship service. They also play an active part in the Sunday School Christmas Program.
Hand Bell Choir is made up of Kindergarten through 5th Grade students. They, too, play an active part in the Sunday School Christmas program.
Catechism is taught to students when they reach 3rd grade. Classes are held immediately following the morning worship service at approximately 10:45AM, beginning in the fall and concluding at the end of spring.
Our children are blessed with the opportunity to attend Preschool through 8th grade at Rock Valley Christian School

That’s the goal of the Calvinist Cadet Corps.
The Cadet ministry is based on landmarks that guide all Cadets, programs designed to meet boys where they are in life, and publications that entertain and educate.

WHAT IS GEMS?
GEMS is the go-to ministry for girls’ spiritual growth, providing real answers to the challenges girls face. We understand the adversity that girls face today and know you’re looking to guide the girls in your life successfully. You’re not alone! GEMS walks alongside moms, mentors, and ministry leaders to equip you to understand today’s problems. With GEMS resources you can provide a safe, welcoming environment to learn about God and remind your girl she’s seen, known, and loved. Through our club programs, one-on-one Bible studies, and girls’ activity kits, girls will find a place to belong and be loved. Through monthly Webinars, weekly Coffee Chats, podcasts, and annual training programs, moms, mentors, and ministry leaders will be equipped to understand and guide their girl through life’s challenges.
