Dordt University
Friday, April 10, 7:00pm
Des Moines Metro Opera’s OPERA Iowa Educational Touring Troupe is scheduled to perform in the B.J. Haan Auditorium at Dordt University on April 10, 2026 at 7:00pm. The troupe will present Joshua Borths’ adaptation of Cinderella for the community. Dordt University is among more than 60 stops on the troupe’s statewide tour, which runs from February 23 through April 24, bringing live opera performances to schools and community venues across Iowa. The performance is free and open to the public.

Julia Vande Vegte, a senior piano performance and pedagogy student at Dordt University, will give a piano recital on April 11 at 7 p.m. in the Jim and Marilyn Dean Recital Hall. Vande Vegte will play selected works from Scarlatti, Beethoven, Debussy, Poulenc, Chopin, and Brahms. She will be accompanied by Josiah Vos as Secundo pianist for Brahms’s Hungarian Dances. Outside of her studies, Vande Vegte is a church musician, teaches private lessons, is a Chorale and recital accompanist, and a featured soloist for J.S. Bach’s Keyboard Concerto in D minor with the Dordt University Chamber Orchestra.

Calvin CRC Prime Rib Dinner Pick-up Night
Christian Education Prime rib dinner is Saturday, April 18-reserve your tickets for the Christian Education Chapter Prime rib dinner, prepared by well known Lorraine Nieuwsma. Each ticket purchased will have a time to pick up your hot prime rib meal at Calvin and enjoy your meal at home with family and friends. Guiding Star Siouxland is hosting our Introduction to Womanhood Class on April 27 at 7pm in Orange City! Premenstrual girls aged 9-13 and their mothers or trusted female guardians are welcome to join for this fun and interactive 90 minute workshop where they will learn to cultivate a healthy respect for bodies as God intended, foster open communication between parents and children, and learn about puberty and fertility with confidence! Habitat Sponsor A Stud! - Gather your friends, family, church group or business to sponsor one or more 2x4 studs for $100 each to help build the Chavez family's Habitat home! We will deliver the stud to you to decorate with Bible verses, encouraging words, prayers, pictures, etc. The studs will be framed into the house, and everyone will be invited to a Stud Finder Event later on to see the studs and pray for the home and family.
