Dordt University

Instrumental Ensembles Spring Concert April 30, 7:00 pm

Join us for the final instrumental ensembles concert of the semester on April 30 at 7pm in the BJ Haan Auditorium.  The concert will feature Composer in Residence John Mackey.  Performing on the concert will be the Chamber Orchestra, Campus-Community Band and Wind Symphony. The Chamber Orchestra will present the music of Broughton, Bach, Borodin, Corigliano, and Warlock.  The Campus-Community Band will perform three works by John Mackey alongside two additional works by Seitz and Nitsch. The Wind Symphony will close the concert with works by Stamp, Holsinger, Fillmore, and feature John Mackey’s “Wine-Dark Sea” Symphony for Band.  Leading up to the concert, Mackey will be working with each of the bands on campus, as well as interacting with local high school bands and Dordt music students. We hope you can join us for this final concert to celebrate the achievements of these musicians! Student Recital, Friday, May 1, 7:00 pm

Dordt University will present Ella Huisinga in a vocal recital on Friday, May 1 at 7:00 pm in the Jim and Marilyn Dean Recital Hall. Huisinga from Renville, Minnesota is a Music Performance & Pedagogy major. She studies voice with Mrs. Deb Vogel. The concert and a PDF program will also be available on livestream at https://www.dordt.edu/live-events.

Choral Ensembles Spring Concert May 2, 7:00 pm

The Dordt University Choral Ensembles Spring Concert at 7:00 pm on Saturday May 2 in the BJ Haan Auditorium will feature four of the Dordt Choral Ensembles: Bella Voce (women’s chorus), Canons of Dordt (men’s chorus), Chorale, and Concert Choir. Repertoire will draw from a wide range of styles and centuries. Bella Voce is conducted by Dr. Carrie Groenewold, Canons of Dordt by Tim Van Voorst, and Chorale and Concert Choir by Dr. Ryan Smit. Calvin CRC Prime Rib Dinner Pick-up Night

Christian Education Prime rib dinner is Saturday, April 18-reserve your tickets for the Christian Education Chapter Prime rib dinner, prepared by well known Lorraine Nieuwsma. Each ticket purchased will have a time to pick up your hot prime rib meal at Calvin and enjoy your meal at home with family and friends. Your meal will include, prime rib, mashed potatoes, roll and dessert Tickets can be reserved the following ways: Email: cecdinner@calvincrcrv.org Call 476-2113 Stop by the Church office Mon, Thurs, Fri mornings Please specify medium or well done. Guiding Star of Siouxland

Guiding Star Siouxland is hosting our Introduction to Womanhood Class on April 27 at 7pm in Orange City! Premenstrual girls aged 9-13 and their mothers or trusted female guardians are welcome to join for this fun and interactive 90 minute workshop where they will learn to cultivate a healthy respect for bodies as God intended, foster open communication between parents and children, and learn about puberty and fertility with confidence! NWIA Bible League

Ladies! Make plans to attend Bible League’s Spring Salad Luncheon with your friends on Monday, May 4 at Trinity Reformed Church in Orange City (201 St. Paul Avenue SE). Please bring one salad for every four ladies in your group. The Luncheon begins at 11:30 AM; featured speakers will represent the Legacy Thrift and Hands Around The World ministries. Updates from BLI will be given, and a freewill donation will be received. Join us for this FUN event!

Join us at RiseFest in Sheldon, IA June 12-13! Come and hear the voices of Christian music throughout the much anticipated weekend praising God with singing and music!

INSPIRATION HILLS

Hello all,

Join us Friday May 1st from 1pm - 5:30pm and Saturday May 2nd from 8am - 4pm for our Volunteer Work Days! Help us get camp ready for summer camp this year! From picking up sticks to splitting logs, there's a job for everyone! Whether you're here for a few hours or for all of both days, your help is greatly appreciated! High School Camp Connection Retreat :October 30 – November 1, 2026
Individuals welcome or youth groups can register together with their youth pastors/leaders
It’s also a perfect weekend to let Inspiration Hills handle the planning—we take care of meals, content, games, and create intentional space for your group to bond and grow together.
7th–9th Grade Fall Retreat: November 6 – 8, 2026
4th–6th Grade Retreat: February 12 – 14, 2027
These weekends are a great opportunity for students to step away, grow in their faith, and build meaningful connections in a Christ-centered environment.
