Membership
Here is our typical transfer-in policy/process for communicant members:
CRC/RCA’s:
- Invitation to sit down with the minister for a meet and greet
- Invitation to meet and greet the Elders, whereby they state the desire to transfer in
- Stand in worship and be recognized as transferring in (may be asked the questions of belief again to reaffirm faith)
Catholic:
- Invitation to sit down with the minister for a meet and greet
- Go through the Creeds and the Three Forms of Unity - five classes
- Invitation to meet with the Elders to reaffirm faith in Christ as understood from a Reformed perspective
- Stand before the church and answer the form questions
Netherlands Reformed:
- Invitation to sit down with the minister for a meet and greet
- Go through the creeds and three forms of unity- 1-5 classes depending on understanding of grace in Christ Jesus as personal Lord and savior
- Invitation to meet with the Elders to affirm faith in Christ as understood from a Reformed perspective
- Stand before the church and answer the form questions
Other Reformed denominations: United Reformed Church, Presbyterian, American Reformed, Protestant Reformed
- Invitation to sit down with the minister for a meet and greet
- Go through the three forms of unity in a one-night meeting
- Invitation to meet and greet the Elders and state the desire to transfer in
- Invited in Worship to be recognized as having joined (may be asked the questions of belief again to reaffirm their faith)
Other Protestant church denominations: Methodist, Lutheran, Anglican, Baptist, Pentecostal, Evangelical, Non-denominational
- Invitation to sit down with the minister for a meet and greet
- Go through the Creeds and the Three forms of Unity in 3-5 meetings depending on person
- Invitation to meet with the elders to reaffirm faith in Christ as understood from a Reformed perspective
- Invited in worship and asked the questions of faith to reaffirm faith
